AIP is shorthand for the Autoimmune Protocol. It is a science-based elimination and reintroduction diet and lifestyle protocol. It focuses on repairing gut health, balancing hormones, and regulating the immune system.

The dietary component includes removing food-driven sources of inflammation and restoring nutrient density, while the lifestyle component includes approaches to sleep, stress management, movement, and connection (both with humans and nature), in order to help best manage autoimmune disease. It has been used successfully alone or in combination with conventional treatments, depending on a person’s needs, and has even been the focus of medical research.

Essentially, it is just a fancy word for a meeting focused on a serious topic, and/or involving important decision making. In recent years, the word has been adopted in the online world to refer to virtual events that include many speakers, all focused on a single important topic. You might call it a conference, or a masterclass, but we decided to use the word "summit," along with the imagery of a sunrising over the top of a mountain summit because it invokes the idea of rising above with strength and finding new hope... which is just what we believe AIP will provide you!

The exact schedule is still being determined but you can expect each day to feature 5 or more sessions, each ranging from 20-45 minutes long, on a variety of topics, centering around these thematic strands:

All sessions for the day will be available for you to watch anytime during the 24 hour window they are open.

Recordings and transcripts will be available later at a nominal fee, and some special bonus gifts for those who opt to purchase will also be included.

All of the speakers are health and wellness professions who are also AIP Certified Coaches. They include doctors, PhD researchers, registered dieticians, licensed psychologists and social workers, registered nurses, certified health coaches, nutritional therapy practitioners, occupational therapists, and more. They hail from the United States and from countries across the globe. Most practice virtually, working with patients and clients all over the world. 

AIP Certified Coaches have been trained on the science and implementation of the Autoimmune Protocol by Sarah Ballantyne, Angie Alt, and Mickey Trescott. 

The organizer and host of this summit is Jaime Hartman, an experienced educator and Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, who has lived with autoimmune disease since she was a teenager. In 2013, Jaime was one of the earliest people creating recipes for the AIP and sharing her experiences as she used the protocol to improve her quality of life on her blog Gutsy By Nature.

Not at all! If you are an AIP veteran or have long since moved beyond the elimination phase through the reintroduction and maintenance phases of the protocol, there will still be lots of valuable content for you. 

The 2021 AIP Summit is 100% NEW content! If you watched the 2020 sessions you’ll see some familiar faces, but all of the content was created and recorded specifically for the 2021 summit.

We are also planning more ways for you to interact with the presenting AIP Certified Coaches and with other participants, while still allowing you to "attend" sessions each day on your own schedule.

We are thrilled to have an international reach and it is one of the main reasons that we present the summits through pre-recorded sessions rather than in real time. 

At 10AM EST* each day, the sessions for that day will be unlocked and remain available for the following 24 hours. Viewers can watch them in any order and at any time they want during that 24 hour window.
