About the Webinar

If you are eating according to the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) or your diet is restricted due to allergies, intolerances, or personal preference, you may wonder if you are eating a diet that meets all of your long term nutritional needs or if you could be developing nutrient deficiencies. One way to prevent these problems is to consider the "nutrient density" of the food you do eat, which refers to the amount of essential nutrients, like vitamins, minerals, fiber, and protein, a food contains relative to its volume and its calorie content.

Nutrient density is crucial for all people on a diet that is restricted, but particularly for people with autoimmune disease, because it maximizes the intake of essential vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients within limited food options. Here are some key reasons:

  1. Satiety: Nutrient-dense foods tend to be more filling, helping to control hunger and make it less likely that you'll succumb to temptations that will derail your progress.

  2. Energy Levels: High-nutrient foods provide the energy needed to support daily activities and overall well-being, which will allow you to balance the other elements of the AIP (sleep, stress, movement, and connection).

  3. Health Maintenance: Adequate nutrient intake supports not only immune function, but also bone health and other essential bodily processes, helping to maintain general health and prevent complications.

  4. Optimal Nutrition: Restricted diets often limit food variety, which can lead to nutrient deficiencies that may worsen autoimmune disease activity.

In this webinar, a panel of experienced AIP Certified Coaches will answer your questions about nutrient density and share insights and best practices from their clinical experience and specialized training.
