Jaime Hartman (00:02):
Welcome to the AIP Summit Podcast, your go- to resource for taking control of your autoimmune health, presented by AIP certified coaches. Hi, I'm Jaimie Hartman, your co-host and the founder of the AIP Summit. This podcast is brought to you every other Monday by myself and my colleague, Marie-Noelle Marquis, and our goal is to quip you with the tools, knowledge, and support you need to effectively use the autoimmune protocol. Today, I am coming to you with a special solo episode to tell you all about an exciting, free educational event presented by our colleagues to kick off 2026.
(00:45):
In this short bonus episode, I want to talk about the live event that is happening next week. It's our seventh annual AIP summit. It's a five-day event held online so that anyone can attend no matter where they are in the world. Over the course of those five days, there will be 29 different presentations, each of them prepared and delivered by an AIP certified coach. So you know that you can trust their information to be accurate and reliable. Sessions on a broad range of topics relating to living with an autoimmune disease and using the autoimmune protocol diet and lifestyle will be presented. And I'll provide a preview of some of those topics in a minute, but if you're really impatient, you could jump over to aipsummit.com right now and take a quick look at the full agenda. As I said, this will be the seventh annual AIP Summit, continuing a movement that I began in 2019 after I had been practicing as an AIP certified coach for about two years after having been an AIP blogger and recipe creator for five years prior to that.
(01:56):
I had a very busy practice in 2019 and I was primarily working with people one-on-one who actually already had a lot of knowledge about AIP, but a lot of that knowledge was incorrect or incomplete. And I found myself doing a lot of work with them on troubleshooting, redirecting, and correcting some of those mistakes that they had made. Interestingly, at the same time, I realized that as I went about my personal life, I would meet people socially or through other unrelated connections. And when I told them what I was doing for work, now that I'd left my corporate job, they said they didn't know anything about AIP. Even those who had autoimmune diseases themselves had never heard of AIP, didn't know anything about it. So in both arenas, I realized there was a big problem. The general public just didn't know what AIP was, and many of my clients had knowledge about it that was wrong, that was poor knowledge, so a knowledge gap in both places.
(02:58):
And I really wanted to change that, but I realized that if I kept just thinking about kind of correcting one person's impressions of AIP at a time, I wasn't going to actually make the change that really would make a difference, the big change I wanted to see in the world. So in 2019, I organized that first AIP Summit with the growing community of my colleagues, fellow AIP certified coaches, because I knew that we could reach more people together by working together than we could have each of us kept working on our own individually. After that first summit broadcast happened in January 2020, we continued and over the years we had subsequent summits and monthly events and lots of extra content, including this podcast now. And ultimately, we've gotten to the point now where we have an archive that includes up to ... I've lost count.
(03:55):
I should go back in and count again, but more than 250 hours of content that's been created, that's been recorded, that's been filed in our archives. And another way of looking at it is our reach. I can tell you that more than 50,000 people have attended at least one event live with many, many more having watched or listened to recordings or come back and connected with us in some other way more than once. Now, my dream is not to make those numbers astronomically high, but that one day this won't even be necessary because what we call AIP today will just be the regular mainstream common sense guidance about diet and lifestyle that someone would get from their doctor when they are receiving an autoimmune diagnosis, of course, along with the appropriate medical treatment for their specific diagnosis. But until that day comes, our work as AIP certified coaches and the AIP Summit specifically will keep working to raise awareness, correct misinformation about AIP and continue spreading that word and breaking down the barriers that exist that keep people from getting this information. I am extremely proud of what my colleagues and I have been able to do so that more people with autoimmune diseases are using the principles of the autoimmune protocol today to enjoy a higher quality of life and to pursue their own dreams, whatever those may be.
(05:29):
Okay. So let's talk about this year's annual summit, starting with what is new in 2026. The AIP Summit has always had a global audience, which I am just thrilled about, but for the first time this year we will be incorporating some multilingual support to reflect that. Now, most of the presentations will continue to be presented in English, but there will also be a total of five that will be presented in French by French speaking coaches. All of the sessions, both the ones that are presented in English and the ones that were presented in French will be presented as Zoom webinars with the support of AI generated live captions that live attendees can have translated in real time into the language of their choice. Now, this will be the first time that we have used this technology. I'm excited to see how it works. I hope it'll work well.
(06:31):
If it does, then you can expect to see more of this in the future. And perhaps it'll be yet another way that we can break down some of those barriers, some of those obstacles that people have to getting accurate information about AIP. Now, I realize if you're listening to this podcast right now, it's probably safe to assume that you speak and understand English. So this may not matter that much to you personally, but if you happen to have friends or family who don't or who would find translated captions a helpful support for them listening to a presentation in English, please help us spread the word about the seventh annual AIP Summit, which will begin on Monday, January 5th. So now I want to share a bit of a preview and some highlights of what to expect each day. So like I said, the first day will be Monday, January 5th.
(07:26):
On that day, there will be five sessions in English and two in French for a total of seven. It's a busy, busy packed day. I will be beginning the day with an opening session that provides an important introduction to the autoimmune protocol for people who are newly diagnosed or who are in need of a refresher or to fill in some knowledge gaps or correct some of that misinformation about AIP so that we can all start at the same place. All of the sessions will have a live Q&A, a question and answer component, even the cooking demo that Marie-Noelle is pre-recording in the Urban AIP kitchen for logistical reasons that are probably going to be obvious when you see that. That will also include a question and answer portion. So you're going to get plenty of opportunities to ask clarifying or follow-up questions if you attend live.
(08:19):
On the second day of the summit, which will be Tuesday, January 6th, there will be a total of five live sessions. Four will be in English, one will be in French. A little highlight for that day that I'll point out to you, another note for people who are either newly diagnosed or are kind of thinking about starting AIP in that contemplation stage perhaps of preparing for it. You'll definitely want to attend Mickey Trescott's presentation on Tuesday on strategies for success in transitioning to AIP. This would also be a great session for practitioners to attend. On Wednesday then, there will again be one session in French and then five in English. Again, all of them will be live and they will all be featuring AIP certified coaches from around the world, including Lucy Sitnova from the Czech Republic with a step-by-step demonstration on AIP friendly sprouting.
(09:16):
The Thursday lineup then includes a presentation on how hormones impact your energy, sleep, and your healing. And then finally on Friday, we'll wrap things up with some voices that will be familiar to podcast listeners and also some new ones, including a presentation in French on the lifestyle pillars beyond diet that allow for lasting remission of symptoms. And then we'll conclude the day and the whole week with a mindful closing session led by yoga therapist, Leslie Ann Wernsdorfer. So hopefully you can tell by what I've just said that the AIP Summit truly is for everyone who is living with autoimmunity, whether they're actively following the autoimmune protocol or not. A small number of the sessions focus on specific common diagnoses, but most are applicable to every diagnosis. And I should also add also applicable to people who may be experiencing symptoms that point to an autoimmune disease, but maybe it hasn't been confirmed yet or those who are seeking a clarifying diagnosis of their autoimmune spectrum condition.
(10:22):
It's also going to be a useful week for people who support those with autoimmune disease. So this is really something for anybody who's touched by autoimmune disease in one way or another. So again, this summit begins on Monday, January 5th. If you are in North America, as I am, that will be in the morning and then the final session will conclude in the early evening, but please go to the website where you'll be able to see the agenda with times in the time zone of your location. So it's really clear what time things start. You can register for the sessions you want to attend live. There is no cost to do so. All of the sessions will be recorded. So if you have a conflict with a particular session or perhaps your time zone or your schedule just isn't conducive to attending live, we recognize there is no good time for everybody in the globe with a busy schedule to all get together.
(11:20):
So we record everything. Links to those recordings will be posted on the website as quickly as they are processed, and then we'll be available for the rest of the day and then an additional 24 hours after that. So there should be plenty of time for you to watch a recording of a session if you couldn't attend live. After that, then the recordings get added to our archives where members of the AIP Summit community can watch them anytime. Members also get other exclusive content and opportunities like weekly meal plans, monthly group coaching sessions, plus members have the satisfaction of knowing that their membership fees are helping us bring this accurate and actionable information about the power of the autoimmune protocol to people who might not otherwise learn about it, but who desperately need it. So if you go to our website, link will be in the show notes, but it's easy to remember too.
(12:15):
It's aIPsummit.com. You can see the full agenda. You can register for the sessions you want to attend. And if you happen to be listening to this podcast after the summit has ended, you can also go there to find out when our next free Encore will be, or how you could become a member and get immediate access to the recordings as well as learn about the other benefits of membership. And that wraps up everything I wanted to say today about the Seventh Annual AIP Summit, which once again will be live, free, and online, starting on Monday, January 5th, and then running through Friday, January 9th. As always, remember, AIP is a protocol with multiple branches and multiple ways that it can be approached. All of the AIP Summit activities, including this annual event we're having next week and this podcast are intended to provide you resources so that you aren't doing AIP alone. I'll be back with Marie-Noelle with our next regular episode in less than two weeks, where we are committed to helping you use the power of the autoimmune protocol to elevate your wellness journey to new heights.
